Alarm Detection Systems names Sean Forrest as president

AURORA, Ill.—Alarm Detection Systems (ADS), a family-owned and operated security and life safety provider, has named Sean Forrest as its new president.

The appointment marks the first time in the company’s nearly 60-year history where leadership has transitioned outside the Bonifas family, ushering in a new phase of growth for the Aurora, Ill.-based business while maintaining the operational values and customer-first mindset that has defined ADS.

Forrest brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the security industry, with a background that includes CEO and CFO roles at companies such as Alarm Connections, Medical Guardian, IVerify and HSM. He has led large-scale integrations, expanded recurring revenue and executed strategic acquisitions while maintaining a strong focus on operational performance and customer experience.

My role is to honor that foundation while helping the company scale its impact.” 

Forrest plans to drive growth through both organic expansion and targeted acquisitions, all while preserving the company’s core identity. One of his key priorities is to lean into innovative technology with the addition of expanded video services to better serve the company’s commercial customers. 

In addition, Forrest would like to expand ADS’ footprint beyond its current markets, identifying new geographic opportunities that align with the company’s capabilities and commitment to service. ADS is positioned to stay ahead of industry shifts by integrating new technologies and responding to the increasing complexity of security needs.
