ONVIF reports milestones in products, new access control profile

SAN RAMON, Calif.—ONVIF now has nearly 5,000 compliant IP-based physical security products and more than 500 member companies across six continents and has developed its fifth profile speculation—Profile A for advanced access control.

ONVIF, a global and open industry forum to standardize communication between IP-based physical security products to ensure their interoperability and facilitate their integration, said in a prepared statement that its continued growth signifies its “development and influence as a major driver of interoperability in the physical security market.”

Profile A, designed to meet the need for a more advanced access control profile, establishes an interface for access control clients and expands the configuration options for ONVIF conformant access control systems, the company said in the statement.
