SAN JOSE, Calif. – 3D LiDAR solution company Quanergy Solutions has announced a partnership with service-based systems integrator Convergint to bring enhanced physical security to the utilities industry.

In a release the companies said they’ll be working together specifically to design, engineer and implement various security solutions by way of enhanced perimeter intrusion detection capabilities. In this partnership Convergint’s security solutions will harness the potential of Quanergy’s LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology which they said would provide an exceptional level of situational awareness and unprecedented insights.

"Quanergy provides solutions that span numerous aspects of our customer portfolio,” said Steve Sinclair, director, utilities vertical markets. “Convergint is growing its security integration and expanding to sensor integration, and this technology helps us build a bridge in capabilities between physical security and operational benefits. It is therefore shaping our position in the utilities space."

As an example, they offered that Quanergy’s offering could effectively track individuals in crowded areas and allocate distinct identifiers to hundreds of people with extremely high accuracy. A feat described as remarkable, and able to provide a competitive advantage in the security industry.

“Quanergy's LiDAR solutions enhance physical security by detecting and tracking intruders in real-time with an exceptional degree of accuracy,” said Quanergy’s Vice President of Market Development and Alliances, Gerald Becker. “This enables security organizations to pinpoint when and where the threat is occurring, to dispatch guards to the exact location, and help prevent crime before it happens. This is a game changer, and we are excited to partner with Convergint to help secure utilities around the world."

This partnership marks a time of expansion for both companies. Quanergy had just announced the grand opening of their new headquarters in San Jose which they said is also a state-of-the-art LiDAR manufacturing facility. Similarly, Convergint is celebrating the grand opening of their Alabama office later this month on June 21 where they’ll also be hosting technology partner presentations.

“The in-person event will connect communities with networking opportunities, partner product offerings, comprehensive service offerings, and an introduction to key regional leadership,” the company wrote. “The objective of the event is to focus on building strong relationships with customers, partners, and colleagues within the community.”
