Schneider Electric to expand IP camera line

DALLAS—Schneider Electric plans to launch more than 50 new IP cameras in 2013 as part of its Pelco IP video surveillance product line, according to a company statement.

Schneider continues to invest in IP video, expanding its research and development effort, product line and training programs. In the statement, Herve Fages, senior vice president of the Pelco Video line, said the company's success in analog has been “equaled and surpassed” by its IP business.

Part of the greater emphasis on its Pelco line involves upgrades and expansions to its Fort Collins, Colo.-based development facility, the statement noted. The facility, which includes new test laboratories and workspace, is double the size of the previous building.

One of Schneider's new Pelco IP cameras—the Sarix IL 10 Series mini box and micro dome—has been showcased at ISC West 2013 this week in Las Vegas.
