Southeast Florida inspectors group joins NFPA affiliate program

QUINCY, Mass.—The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has named the Southeast Florida Electrical Inspectors Association as its newest Electrical Inspection Section (EIS) Affiliate Chapter, creating additional opportunities for education, training and collaboration within the region's electrical inspection community.

According to NFPA, the new affiliate chapter will support electrical inspectors and code enforcement professionals throughout Southeast Florida with resources focused on electrical safety, professional development and code compliance.

“NFPA is pleased to welcome the Southeast Florida Electrical Inspectors Association as an EIS Affiliate Chapter,” said Tim McClintock, NFPA lead regional electrical specialist and executive secretary of the Electrical Inspection Section. “This new partnership creates additional opportunities for NFPA and Southeast Florida’s electrical enforcement community to share knowledge, collaborate on emerging safety challenges, and work together to promote safer communities across the state.”

McClintock said strong electrical inspection programs play a critical role in protecting people and property while supporting compliance with NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC), and other safety standards.

The Southeast Florida organization joins a growing network of NFPA EIS Affiliate Chapters across the country, including associations in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio and Rhode Island.

“Electrical inspections serve as a cornerstone of community safety and the effective enforcement of the National Electrical Code,” said Anthony Solino, president of the Southeast Florida Electrical Inspectors Association. “The Southeast Florida EIS Affiliate Chapter is committed to advancing electrical safety through education, collaboration, and active participation in the standards development process.”

NFPA said electrical inspection professionals participating in an EIS Affiliate Chapter may be eligible for NFPA Electrical Inspection Membership, which includes access to code development activities, training on code changes, industry events and other educational resources.
