The Monitoring Association names Chris Mahoney director of certification

MCLEAN, Va.—The Monitoring Association (TMA) has named Chris Mahoney, MBA, MS, as director of certification, a newly created position at the organization.

In this role, Mahoney will oversee the development and expansion of TMA’s certification offerings, including its Five Diamond, FirstNet and IQ programs, and will work to introduce additional credentialing opportunities aimed at supporting workforce development across the professional monitoring industry.

Mahoney joins TMA with more than a decade of experience in certification, education and program management. Most recently, he served as senior manager of program development at the National Apartment Association, where he managed credentialing and training programs serving more than 10,000 professionals annually. His responsibilities included launching micro-credential programs, overseeing exam development and supporting accreditation efforts

Earlier in his career, Mahoney was director of career and program development at the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando, where he oversaw certification programs and workforce partnerships.

By creating new opportunities for professional recognition and career advancement, TMA aims to help member companies attract, develop and retain talented professionals while reinforcing the industry's commitment to public safety and exceptional service, the association stated in its announcement.
