Universal Protection Security System acquires City-Wide Electronic Systems

SANTA ANA, Calif.—Universal Protection Security Systems announced June 2 it has acquired City-Wide Electronic Systems.

Universal Protection Security Systems *is the electronic security division of Universal Services of America, a $500 million company that provides guards, security installation and janitorial services.

City-Wide is a 40-year-old, family-owned security company with more than 2,000 commercial customers in California. It is based in San Diego.

Steve Jones, CEO of Universal Services of America, said in a prepared statement that Universal's “growth in the area of security systems integration has increasing importance to our clients as part of their total security solutions. The acquisition strengthens our offering as a key player in this market.”

The deal will enhance Universal Protection Security Systems' systems integration and fire capabilities and geographic footprint in the San Diego and Northern California area, according to the release.
