Valcom, Kokomo24/7 partner on integrated school safety platform

ROANOKE, Va., and NORTHBROOK, Ill.—Valcom and Kokomo24/7 have formed a strategic partnership aimed at delivering a unified school safety and operations ecosystem that combines on-premises communications infrastructure with cloud-based school management tools.

The companies said the partnership is designed to address the fragmented nature of many school safety deployments, where emergency communications, visitor management, attendance tracking, incident response and compliance functions often operate through separate platforms.

Kokomo24/7Under the agreement, Valcom will provide communications technologies including IP paging, intercom, emergency notification, visual alerting and its V-Guardian Alert wearable panic button solution. Kokomo24/7 will contribute its cloud-based platform for visitor management, student attendance, reunification, behavioral threat assessment, incident management and operational workflows.

“School safety requires more than a panic button or a paging system. It requires every technology to work together,” said Ray Butler, president of Valcom. “Our partnership with Kokomo24/7 creates a trusted unified ecosystem functioning as one solution, so schools gain faster response times and streamlined operations every day.”

The companies said the integrated offering is intended to help schools manage the full safety lifecycle, including prevention, mitigation, protection, response and recovery.

According to Kokomo24/7 Founder and CEO Daniel J. Lee, school districts are increasingly seeking integrated technology platforms that reduce complexity and improve interoperability.

“Districts are looking for less fragmentation and more connected solutions,” Lee said. “By integrating Kokomo24/7 with Valcom, we're helping schools bridge the gap between physical infrastructure and cloud software.”

The combined platform allows schools to initiate emergency communications while simultaneously launching digital workflows that can account for students, staff and visitors, support incident command activities, simplify reunification processes and assist with post-incident recovery efforts.

Valcom specializes in IP-based communications, emergency notification and life-safety technologies, while Kokomo24/7 markets its School Safety Cloud platform to K-12 districts.
