IRVINE, Calif.—Veritone and ZeroEyes have entered into a referral partnership aimed at combining real-time weapons detection with artificial intelligence (AI)-powered post-event investigation tools, the companies announced.
The partnership brings together ZeroEyes’ weapons detection and situational awareness platform with Veritone’s AI technology for evidence review and investigative analysis, creating what the companies describe as a more comprehensive approach to incident management before, during and after a security event.
“By pairing ZeroEyes’ real-time, proactive alerts with Veritone’s advanced post-event analysis, we’re equipping security and law enforcement professionals with the actionable intelligence to help manage every stage of an incident,” said Ryan Steelberg, CEO of Veritone.
The companies said the partnership is intended to help organizations improve both immediate response and follow-up investigations by combining proactive threat detection with tools designed to analyze large volumes of video and other digital evidence.
ZeroEyes’ software integrates with existing security cameras and uses AI to identify visible firearms and knives. When a potential threat is detected, images are reviewed by personnel at the company’s ZeroEyes Operations Center, a 24/7 monitoring center staffed by military and law enforcement veterans. If a threat is verified, alerts containing information such as weapon type, suspect description and last known location are sent to law enforcement and designated security personnel.
Under the partnership, organizations will be able to pair those real-time alerts with Veritone’s AI tools, which are designed to help investigators process video and other data after an incident.
The companies said the partnership is built around a human-in-the-loop approach, with human verification serving as a safeguard against false positives and helping ensure alerts remain actionable.
“When responding to an active assailant, time and situational awareness are critical, and both are often in short supply,” said Mike Lahiff, CEO and co-founder of ZeroEyes. “Our goal is to give school administrators and their law enforcement partners more of both, providing actionable intelligence that supports a faster, more informed response.
By partnering with Veritone, we can extend that value beyond the immediate threat and give customers additional tools to support post-event analysis and investigation.”
