Vivint charity raises more than $3m in 2013

PROVO, Utah—Vivint's charity arm, Vivint Gives Back, raised more than $3 million in 2013, with 6,500 Vivint employees logging more than 50,000 hours of volunteer service, the company announced Feb. 6.

Founded in 2008, Vivint Gives Back provides cash donations and volunteer hours to individuals and charity organizations, the company said.

"It's truly awe-inspiring how many people Vivint Gives Back has been able to touch," said Holly Mero-Bench, Vivint Gives Back director, in a prepared statement. "This year, we've seen our employees give more than ever before, roughly $3 million in donations. Because of their generosity, we have been able to impact countless lives."

In 2013, Vivint Gives Back partnered with Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Feed My Starving Children, the Boys and Girls Club, and Choice Humanitarian, among others, according to the statement.

In the Sub for Santa Program, 2,000 Vivint employees and executives wrapped and delivered Christmas presents to more than 3,000 children in 125 communities throughout North America, according to the release. The company raised $228,000 from employee donations and a corporate dollar-for-dollar match.
