BOCA RATON, Fla.—ADT has begun migrating its dealer network to the ADT+ platform, with about 30% of its new customer additions during the first half of 2026 installed on the system, say company execs.
The migration is expected to take approximately nine to 12 months, Chief Business Officer Omar Khan said on a recent call to discuss the company's second quarter earnings.
“We're being very thoughtful and very intentional about that rollout,” Khan said. “About one-third of our adds come from the dealer community, so it's going to be about a three-quarter to four-quarter transition.”
ADT executives believe broader adoption of ADT+ will help strengthen customer engagement while providing a foundation for future products and services.
Origin AI moves closer to market
ADT also provided new details on how it plans to commercialize technology acquired through Origin AI, which it acquired in February.
The company continues to make progress integrating a Wi-Fi-based smart plug that will bring privacy-preserving presence-sensing capabilities to the ADT+ platform for both security and aging-in-place applications.
Khan said future capabilities are expected to include motion intelligence, alarm-event intelligence and zone-based intelligence within the home, all powered by artificial intelligence (AI) models operating through the ADT+ ecosystem.
DIY strategy gains momentum
Executives also highlighted early momentum for ADT Blu, the company's recently launched do-it-yourself (DIY) security offering.
The solution, available through online channels including Amazon, is designed to reach value-conscious DIY customers.
“The initial data that we're seeing is a majority of customers choosing the full security packages, (rather than the camera-only option),” Khan said.
While the rollout has focused primarily on Amazon, the company plans to expand marketing efforts and distribution channels during the second half of the year.
“I'm excited about the opportunities ahead,” said CEO Jim DeVries. “With strong cash generation, disciplined execution and continued investment in our key growth initiatives, we believe we're building a stronger future for the business.”
