ADT introduces self-setup with Google Nest products

LAS VEGAS – At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), ADT introduced the ADT+ app as part of a new fully integrated product ecosystem.

According to ADT, customers will now be able to access and control their ADT devices more easily. That includes a base, keypad, motion sensors, door and window sensors, smart bulbs, smart locks and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, as well as compatible Google Nest Cams, Doorbell and Thermostats, through, “…an intuitive app experience,” the company said.

ADT+ delivers on the company’s commitment to a product ecosystem that protects and helps connect consumers inside and outside the home ADT said and represents a historic shift in home security that allows for self-setup for DIY customers. “This is a pivotal moment for ADT. Through this new ecosystem, we’re providing greater peace of mind for our consumers wherever they are,” ADT Chief Technology Officer Raya Sevilla said. “Consumer expectations and definitions of safety have evolved to include connection, proactive prevention, mobile, vehicle and energy. So we engineered the new ADT+ app with them in mind — leveraging extensive customer research to intimately understand their needs and expectations from a new home-automation system.”

 ADT+ is informed by thousands of hours of research from ADT’s residential and small business customers the company said and is ADT’s next generation smart home security system. It provides modernized convenience for consumers by unifying security, smart home, life safety and analytics all in one application. ADT says the that the app is future-proofed in order to continue evolving in tandem with users’ smart home and security needs.

 ADT+ will launch first in February for self-setup customers, professional installation customers will the see app launch later in 2023.
