Allied Universal acquires Sentinel Offender Services

IRVINE, Calif.—Allied Universal has acquired Sentinel Offender Services, in a move the company says gives it a “stronger platform” to position itself as a leading electronic monitoring company. 

By combining Sentinel’s operations with Allied Universal’s existing electronic monitoring business, the combined organization will offer a broader range of electronic monitoring technologies and services while increasing its expertise and support capabilities. 

“This acquisition provides our electronic monitoring business with an even stronger platform for continued growth in North America, the world’s largest electronic monitoring market,” said Steve Jones, global chairman and CEO of Allied Universal. “By combining Sentinel’s proven capabilities with our existing business, we are strengthening our ability to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional services to customers while expanding our leadership position in this important market segment.” 

Sentinel Offender Services partners with courts, corrections agencies and community supervision programs across the United States. Its offerings include GPS and radio-frequency electronic monitoring, alcohol monitoring, offender tracking, case management and related supervision services designed to support public safety and accountability. 

Allied Universal said it expects the acquisition to support continued investment in technology innovation and customer service. 

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 

Raymond James Financial Inc. served as exclusive advisor to Sentinel in the transaction.
