RICHARDSON, Texas — Guardian Access & Door Hardware revealed that its garage door openers using beam Smart controllers are now compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto using the beam Home App.
Through the beam Home App, owners can invite trusted users to control their garage doors, enable timed auto-close, change the door name, set biometric alerts, and receive alerts if their garage doors have any issues or have been left open.
The app also connects to various smart products, including Amazon Alexa, IFTTT, & the Apple Watch. Alexa users can utilize beam's smart features through various voice commands, such as "Alexa, ask my beam Home to open/close my garage door," or "Alexa, ask my beam Home if my garage door is open." Currently, Apple Watch users are only able to use the beam Home App independently if connected to cellular data, but Guardian is looking to expand this feature to all Apple Watch users.
Guardian said that the smart controller's recent integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto adds an even deeper level of convenience for homeowners, who can now open and close their garage doors using their car display screen.
This feature will allow them to carry out any actions that are available through the beam Home App on their smart devices, such as viewing the status of their garage doors and opening/closing their doors.
