HAMILTON, New Zealand—Gallagher Group CEO and Executive Director Kahl Betham will step down at the end of the company's financial year on March 31, 2027, concluding a nearly 30-year career with the global technology company.
Betham joined Gallagher in 1997 as a software engineer and went on to hold a series of leadership roles, including leading the company's global security business beginning in 2015. He was appointed group deputy CEO in 2019 before becoming group CEO in 2021.
Under his leadership, Gallagher said the company has grown to more than 1,700 employees worldwide and now serves customers in more than 160 countries through its Gallagher Security and Gallagher Animal Management businesses. The company reported that revenue has doubled over the past five years and is on track to exceed NZ$700 million during the current fiscal year.
In announcing his decision, Betham said the timing felt right given the company's position and his personal priorities.
"While this is a really hard decision, after almost 30 years with Gallagher and the company in such great shape, it feels like the right time, especially while my children are still young," Betham said.
He added that he plans to spend more time supporting New Zealand's technology sector and emerging technology companies after leaving the role.
Betham said he remains focused on leading the company through the remainder of fiscal year 2027.
"The business is almost 90 years old, and our commitment to innovation means Gallagher is well placed to continue protecting what matters most for customers all around the world," he said. "I remain fully committed to leading the business through the remainder of FY27."

Crisis24 launches digital executive protection service
ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Crisis24 has launched a new Digital Executive Protection service designed to help organizations address cybersecurity and privacy risks facing senior executives beyond the corporate environment.
The new offering extends cyber protection measures to executives' personal digital ecosystems, including private devices, home networks, personal accounts, online footprints and family members. The company said the service is intended to address a growing security gap as threat actors increasingly target executives through personal channels that fall outside traditional enterprise security programs.
According to Crisis24, attackers are leveraging personal email accounts, unmanaged home networks and publicly available personal information to facilitate credential theft, impersonation, financial fraud and, in some cases, physical targeting or coercion.
"Attackers know that enterprise cybersecurity often stops at the corporate boundary and are increasingly bypassing enterprise defenses by targeting executives through their personal devices, home networks and families," said Ghonche Alavi, director of cyber at Crisis24. "Digital Executive Protection is designed to close this gap by protecting senior leaders' personal digital environments with the discretion and ease they expect."

Alarm.com expands into commercial fire
TYSONS, Va. – Alarm.com has introduced its Fire Communicator (ADC FC100), expanding Alarm.com for Business into the commercial fire category.
With the addition of fire alongside intrusion, access control and video, service providers can now standardize on Alarm.com for Business across the four major categories of commercial security.
The Fire Communicator replaces legacy POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) fire communications with reliable, dual-path signaling that works with both new and existing fire alarm control panels. Businesses can modernize fire monitoring without the cost and disruption of replacing current infrastructure, creating a more affordable path to updated fire communications while gaining real-time alerts and centralized visibility through Alarm.com services.
For service providers, this approach simplifies operations with one portal, one technician app, and one bill across all security categories. Businesses benefit from a more consistent experience with centralized alerts, reporting, and history for intrusion, access control, video and fire monitoring.
“More than 20 years ago, Alarm.com transformed residential intrusion by combining reliable signal communication with a modern cloud platform and connected user experience,” said Dan Kerzner, president of Platforms Business at Alarm.com. “The Fire Communicator applies that same model to commercial fire, giving service providers a simpler way to manage installations, monitoring, and customer accounts while helping businesses bring fire monitoring into the same day-to-day workflows they already use for the rest of their security system.”
