Ingersoll Rand names Patricia Blackburn VP Communications and Public Affairs

DAVIDSON, N.C.—Ingersoll-Rand on April 27 announced the appointment of Patricia Blackburn as vice president, Communications and Public Affairs. In this role, Blackburn will lead the strategy for all internal and external communications, including media relations, government and regulatory affairs, brand management, community relations, employee communications, company reputation management, web communications and the Ingersoll Rand Charitable Foundation. Blackburn will be based in Davidson, N.C.
Blackburn joins Ingersoll Rand from RSM McGladrey, a subsidiary of H&R Block, where she was the senior vice president, corporate communications and brand. Blackburn's prior experience includes positions as senior vice president of Corporate Communications at Bank of America, director of Corporate Communications at Goodrich Corporation and chief communications officer and a member of the Chairman's Leadership Team for Giddings & Lewis, Inc. Blackburn joined Giddings & Lewis after a 17-year career in corporate communications with Cooper Industries, where she held positions of increasing responsibility within the Public Affairs department.
