Lumeo launches Universal AI Bridge for enhanced video analytics

OAKLAND, Calif.—Lumeo has announced the launch of Universal AI Bridge, a cloud service that enables integrators, solution providers and businesses to add a wide range of cloud-based, AI-powered analytics to existing IP cameras and NVRs without requiring any additional hardware on-site.

The Universal AI Bridge allows any IP camera or NVR to run video analytics in the cloud, unlocking advanced analytics capabilities without the need for on-site hardware.

LumeoIt works via the SMTP (Email) capability found in virtually all existing IP cameras and NVRs, which can be configured to send video clips, at periodic intervals or with other rules such as motion triggers, to the Lumeo Universal Bridge. When the Universal AI Bridge receives video clips, it saves them to the Lumeo Cloud and runs the configured Lumeo analytic on it in the cloud.

Lumeo’s flexible video analytics platform enables users to create any analytic they need, using drag-and-drop tools, pre-built analytic building blocks, ready-to-use AI models and integrations with third-party VMS, business intelligence/reporting, alerting and monitoring systems. This means that users have complete control over the analytics that are performed on their video footage, making it easy to tailor the system to their specific needs and requirements.

When coupled with Lumeo’s video analytics platform, the Universal AI Bridge enables any camera to run any AI model and basic to advanced analytics. The possibilities are endless, with use cases such as video verification for alarm reduction, license plate recognition, facial recognition, fall detection and more, now enabled with any IP camera or NVR.

This technology has numerous applications, including enhanced security and surveillance, improved efficiency in retail and hospitality settings, and more.

“With the Universal AI Bridge, Lumeo’s customers can take advantage of the latest advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning without the hassle and expense of updating their camera investments,” said Lumeo CEO Devarshi Shah.

The Universal AI Bridge is included in Lumeo’s consumption-based pricing, which, for video clips, starts at $100 for 10k video-mins per month, irrespective of the type of analytic and number of cameras processed.
