Quantum introduces Myriad storage platform

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Video and data solutions company Quantum have introduced their brand new, software-defined, all-flash storage platform for enterprise, Myriad.

Myriad leverages advances in application framework and design in order to overcome the limitations of hardware-centric designed and lets customers adapt to their future storage needs while simultaneously reducing the burden imposed on IT staff. With more than double the amount of data produced in the next five years as opposed to the last ten, Myriad solves the challenge of enterprises using old systems to process data by utilizing an all new shared-nothing architecture designed for the latest flash technologies to deliver consistent low-latency performance at any scale.

“To keep pace with data growth, the industry has “thrown hardware” at the problem,” says Brian Pawlowski, chief development officer, Quantum. “Integrating feedback from customers, partners and industry analysts on what’s missing from current solutions in market, we took a totally different approach with Myriad, and the result is the architecture I’ve wanted to build for 20 years. Myriad is incredibly simple, incredibly adaptable storage software for an unpredictable future.”

Myriad expands Quantum’s solutions portfolio for unstructured data and is ideal for high-growth use cases requiring performance and scale like machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). Myriad’s features include the shared-nothing software architecture, self-healing and balancing software, automated network management of the internal RDMA fabric, inline metadata tagging, and more.

“Myriad is immediately relevant for many of our customers who are investing in all-flash storage systems,” said Troy Watson, vice president and general manager, Central Region, of Quantum partner Trace3. “It is a truly modern design and further strengthens Quantum’s portfolio of solutions for unstructured data. We look forward to partnering with Quantum to help bring this innovative solution to market.”
