SIA to lead ISC East education program

NORWALK, Conn.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) is leading the ISC East education program at the ISC East trade show, to be held Nov. 20-21 at New York City's Javits Center, ISC East announced Sept. 20. The program includes 18 free sessions and two learning labs, which are a first for the education program.

“Year to year, we customize the program based on what our customers tell us they need,” said Arminda Valles-Hall, SIA education and training director, in a prepared statement. “This year's program features more hands-on learning, a series on how to better manage your business, and exploration of various technologies and megatrends - like the explosive growth in the 'Internet of Things,' increased work-force mobility and the need for 'many-to-many' data sharing - that are changing the landscape.”

Learning labs, $125 each and open to only 30 attendees, give participants hands-on experience with products. Educational sessions will address such topics as how to be a security consultant, selling return on investment effectively, using CCTV at night, reducing risk and liability, school security, cyber security and securing sports facilities.
