SAN MATEO, Calif. — Verkada has shared the results of its 2024 State of Cloud Physical Security report, as well as introduced its first annual awards program.

Verkada’s 2024 State of Cloud Physical Security is based on insights from IT and physical security leaders across various sectors. The findings look at current trends, insights, and challenges within the industry as it goes through the “inevitable” transition of physical security from on-premise setups to feature-rich, cloud-managed options.

Key findings of the Verkada’s 2024 State of Cloud Physical Security report include a growing consensus on a cloud-based future, high cloud transition intentions and urgent adoption timelines, positive shifting attitudes on cyber readiness, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to security solutions.

On behalf of Verkada, The Harris Poll surveyed 1,518 U.S. security professionals from March 19 to April 16, 2024. Employees of U.S. companies with 100 or more employees who are direct users and involved in determining security requirements or influence final purchasing decisions regarding their company’s physical security infrastructure were included in the sample for analysis.

Verkada also announced the 2024 Safety Champion Awards. The awards are stated to recognize security leaders who showcase excellence in their fields across various verticals and industries in order to show appreciation for their dedication to keeping communities safer. The awards presented are comprised of the Verkada Impact Award, Security Professional Excellence Award, and School Safety Excellence Award.
