Church intruders bungle burglary

DETROIT—Intruders broke into the New Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, and things seemed to be going according to plan until one of them answered a ringing phone. Unfortunately for them, the call was from the alarm company, according to an article from mlive.com, a Michigan digital news outlet.

The alarm company called to ask why the alarm was triggered at 2:30 a.m. When the intruder provided an unsatisfactory answer and did not know the alarm code, the alarm company told him that the police were en route.

The burglars fled, taking only a mini-refrigerator, but they caused about $500 in damage, the article said. Most of the damage was done in the pastor's office, which the intruders ransacked, according to the report.
