dormakaba acquires airport software provider Airsphere

RUMLANG, Switzerland—dormakaba has acquired Airsphere GmbH, an airport software company specializing in passenger management systems, expanding its presence in the global aviation market. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2010 and based in Seefeld, Germany, Airsphere develops software designed to automate passenger processes, airport logistics and elements of critical infrastructure security. The company’s solutions are deployed at more than 250 airports worldwide, including major international hubs such as London Heathrow, Munich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Beijing, Newark, Orlando, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangalore.
Airsphere’s eGate software is currently used in more than 8,000 airport eGates globally, processing more than 1 billion passengers annually, according to the companies. The business employs approximately 20 people and will continue to operate independently, serving both dormakaba customers and its existing airport client base.

Airsphere has a broad product portfolio that fits very well with dormakaba. Our goal is to further improve passenger processes at airports and airlines through increased efficiency.”
dormakaba said the transaction is expected to be accretive to group earnings per share from day one.
The acquisition of Airsphere GmbH closed on May 18, 2026.
