Four Moms, One Cause

Four Moms, One Cause

Four Moms, One Cause

In my last blog, I talked about the importance of the security industry coming together for a common cause – the fight against cyberattacks. Two weeks later, another national threat has brought a quartet of security moms together for a great cause.

Driven by the passion of Elisa Mula, Founder, EM Designs (EMD), LLC, she and three other moms in the security industry - Min Kyriannis, Managing Director, JMK Group; Antoinette King, PSP, Key Account Manager, Axis Communications; and Janet Fenner, President, Defined Marketing – have joined forces to present the inaugural Moms in Security Charity Golf Outing on Monday, June 21, beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Proceeds for the event, which takes place at the Meadow Golf Club in Lincoln Park, N.J., will support two non-profit organizations that are dedicated to rescuing women and children from human trafficking - Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.) and Veterans for Child Rescue (V4CR).

Operation Underground Railroad is an organization that assists governments around the world in the rescue of human trafficking and sex trafficking victims, with a special focus on children. Veterans for Child Rescue is dedicated to raising awareness about “the epidemic of child rape trafficking in the United States, exposing this fastest-growing criminal enterprise on Earth, and putting predators behind bars,” as described in its mission statement.

When we asked the foursome (pardon the golf pun) what led to the development of Moms in Security and the golf outing, the group collectively responded, “Elisa Mula has been passionate about combatting human trafficking and protecting children, and because of that, she rallied Janet Fenner, Antoinette King, and Min Kyriannis to help her at this effort – forming ‘Moms in Security.’ This is an organization looking to make a change and to ensure the safety and protection of our children. On 6/21, we will kick off with our inaugural golf outing to raise money to support Operation Underground Railroad and Veterans for Child Rescue.”

I know I’ll be hopping in my car and making the trek from Queens, NY to New Jersey to support the efforts of these four great ladies. Not only will this be an opportunity to network with industry, have fun and enjoy great food, but most importantly, it’s an opportunity to join the fight against human trafficking.

For more information on how to attend, sponsor and/or donate in support of the Moms in Security golf outing, please visit https://www.momsinsecurity.com/home-1 and/or follow Moms in Security on LinkedIn.

Bravo to Elisa, Min, Antoinette and Janet for putting together this golf outing. Four moms in security, plus one great cause, equals one unforgettable afternoon.

Hope to see you all there!
