SimpliSafe launches 24/7 live guard protection feature

BOSTON – Smart home security system company SimpliSafe has announced the release of its 24/7 live guard protection service, enabled by the company's new Smart Alarm Wireless Indoor Security Camera.

The camera uses the service to provide voiced intervention, allowing agents to help prevent crime in real time and speak to intruders during incidents. SimpliSafe describes the service as an evolution from passively connecting first responders to emergencies to proactively intervening.

"Police response times are getting longer. They receive an estimated 600,000 calls per day, are facing unprecedented burnout and turnover and are struggling to recruit and retain officers," says Christian Cerda, chief executive officer at SimpliSafe. "In an emergency, time is a matter of life or death. We identified an opportunity where we could leverage technology advancements to get people the intervention they need more immediately. These innovations are designed to help stop crime before first responders can arrive on the scene, enhancing customer safety in a way like never before."

SimpliSafe noted that it has decreased the number of false alarm dispatches by 50 percent in the past three years. Additionally, the company is introducing two other next-generation security sensors: the SimpliSafe Smoke & Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detector and the SimpliSafe Gen 2 Motion Sensor. Both have enhanced accuracy to reduce instances of false alarms.
