The journey west

The journey west

For me, there’s a few more meetings to go yet at GSX this year, but odds are by the time you’re reading this we’ll be wrapped and headed home.

It’s been a good show this year, although I think a lot of attendees made the comment that the first day felt slow. That momentum certainly picked up on the second day, so I was thankful for all the exhibitors that were good enough to leave coffee stations all over the show floor.

There were several large pieces of news, and product announcements that launched during the show that I'll be covering in detail as all our interviews start to go up, including the release of Allied Universal’s World Security Report which is ripe with data about the industry that I have no doubt is already being picked apart by analysts.

I got to meet a lot of lovely people and renewed our friendships with our media partners that work so hard to help me keep the security industry informed. Also, I got to meet this fine gentleman, no disassembly required (or desired).

What I probably heard the most from our news partners and various industry leaders however was that they’re on track to make their biggest announcements and reveals at ISC West in 2024. Not the least bit surprising to me, of course, because it’s the larger show, but more than that it’s right near the end of the first quarter of the year, and everyone wants to make their big splash.

I’m making my way west now, and when the time comes, Security Systems News (SSN) will be there at ISC West In the trenches with the rest of you next April.

Safe journeys to everyone heading home.
