Clements named president and CEO by VSC Fire & Security

ASHLAND, Va. – VSC Fire & Security announced the retirement of Mike Meehan as chief executive officer for the company, effective December 31, 2022. VSC President Tommy Clements has taken on both roles effective immediately the company said.

Meehan will continue to serve on VSC’s board of directors as non-executive chairman and will be advising senior leadership to ensure a smooth transition according to the official release. “The past 43 years have been a blur full of emotion, growth, learning and success but there comes a time when another chapter beckons and a transition is necessary,” Meehan said. “That time is upon me. The work we do is meaningful and I have always taken great pride in who we are, what we do and what we have built. I will always carry that pride and I sincerely believe the decades ahead will be full of more value and success for VSC.”

Meehan started at VSC in 1979 as a pipefitter and served in various roles and offices throughout his time at the company including division manager of the Virginia Beach office. He joined the board of directors in 1998 and became president in 2017, then CEO in 2022. VSC stated that during Meehan’s tenure the company doubled in volume, expanding into Texas and Arkansas.
