Hikvision releases new 16 MP 180° camera

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Hikvision has released a new camera in its lineup of security products and solutions.

The 16 MP 180° PanoVu Network Camera (DS-2CD6944G0-IHS) boasts a 180° spliced image empowered by four fixed-focus lenses. The network camera offers what Hikvision is calling unrivaled resolution close to 6K, delivering superior image detail for comprehensive monitoring.

“Our new 16 MP 180° PanoVu Camera provides security professionals with unparalleled panoramic image quality and enhanced features designed to increase situational awareness while reducing installation costs,” said John Xiao, vice president of marketing, Hikvision USA. “The result is a video security solution with uncompromised durability, advanced intelligence, and extreme value.”

Hikvision said the camera is an ideal choice for a wide range of applications. It enables users to monitor vast areas with its automatic image stitching functionality and eliminates the need for multiple IP addresses. The camera also offers smart human density counting and foot traffic analysis. Thanks to a built-in heater the camera is also capable of operating at -40 °C (-40 °F).
