MUNICH—Siemens and TD SYNNEX have entered into a global distribution partnership aimed at accelerating the convergence of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) while expanding adoption of physical artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across multiple industries.
Under the agreement, Siemens will combine its technology expertise with TD SYNNEX’s global distribution network and IT partner ecosystem, which spans more than 100 countries. The companies said the partnership is designed to broaden access to Siemens technologies for enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses.
The relationship will give channel partners access to a range of offerings spanning industrial automation, software and AI, cybersecurity, intelligent infrastructure and electrification. According to the companies, the partnership is intended to help organizations capitalize on growing demand for connected technologies as IT/OT convergence continues to reshape industrial and building environments.
“With the incredible pace of change driven by AI, bringing IT and OT closer together has never been more important,” said Alastair Borissow, head of global distribution sales at Siemens.
The companies said the alliance is intended to create new opportunities for technology providers, solution integrators and service providers as adoption of AI-enabled and software-defined industrial systems continues to grow.
“IT and OT convergence is creating significant opportunities for partners to connect enterprise technology with the systems that power industries, infrastructure and buildings,” said Cheryl Day, senior vice president, new vendor acquisition & global solutions at TD SYNNEX. “By combining Siemens' industrial technology expertise with TD SYNNEX's global partner ecosystem, enablement capabilities and value-added services, we can help partners access new markets, develop new skills and address emerging opportunities in areas such as industrial AI, automation, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure.”
