Allied Universal hires former Chiefs security executive for event services leadership role

IRVINE, Calif.—Allied Universal has appointed Josh Ball as vice president of field operations, quality control and special events for its Allied Universal Event Services business unit.

In the newly created leadership role, Ball will oversee operational quality assurance efforts, including event quality control inspections, internal audits and third-party audits. He will also lead special events operations and help expand Allied Universal’s event consulting and event risk intelligence capabilities.

Allied UniversalBall brings more than 20 years of security leadership experience spanning professional sports, large-scale events and critical infrastructure. Most recently, he served as senior director of safety and security for the Kansas City Chiefs, where he managed security operations across home games, playoff contests, concerts and other major events. His responsibilities included serving as the primary security lead for World Cup matches and directing the team’s security operations during the 2024 Super Bowl.

Before joining the Chiefs, Ball was senior director of security, safety and first aid at Churchill Downs, where he led security operations for Kentucky Derby Week, an event that attracts roughly 480,000 attendees annually. Earlier in his career, he served as chief of police and director of public safety for the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, overseeing law enforcement, emergency management and physical security at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

Ball said his experience working with Allied Universal as a client influenced his decision to join the company.
