DETROIT—Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD), a wholly owned subsidiary of Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions (AITX), has engaged security industry veteran Tom Reilly to develop and execute its strategy for systems integrator and distribution channels.
Reilly's responsibilities will include building channel programs, operating models and sales strategies designed to expand market access for RAD's AI-powered offerings, including RAIA, SARA and the company's stationary security solutions. He also will evaluate RAD's existing sales channels to identify opportunities for deeper market penetration.
He will also collaborate with RAD's sales leadership on strategic account planning for some of North America's largest guarding and facility services companies, covering the company's portfolio of stationary devices, mobile robots and agentic AI solutions.
Reilly brings nearly 20 years of business leadership experience to the role. Most recently, he served as president of Commend Americas from 2019 to 2026, overseeing operations across the United States, Canada and Latin America. He joined Commend in 2009 as Northeast regional manager and previously spent nine years with EY's financial services practice.
"We built RAD's early growth selling direct and through guarding companies. That got us here. It won't get us where we're going, and we can't keep doing everything the way we've done it," said Steve Reinharz, CEO, CTO and founder of AITX and RAD. "RAIA and SARA are built for the integrator and distribution channels, and those channels want to work with someone who has run a business like theirs."
The appointment comes as RAD looks to expand partner-driven sales and broaden adoption of its AI-powered security technologies through established industry channels.
The company said Reilly's first assignment will be developing a channel strategy with measurable milestones. RAD said the initiative supports its goal of reaching positive operating cash flow by December 2026 through increased partner-driven revenue growth without adding fixed costs.
"I came up selling through integrators and dealers, and what I took from it is that you can stay close to the end user without ever going around the partner who owns that account," Reilly said. "RAD already works that way, the products are built for partners, and the direct business has proven they work. The program around that is the part I'm here to build."
