Georgia firm acquires, changes name

METTER, Ga.—Pineland Technology Solutions, based here, has purchased Southeastern Alarm & Technologies, also based in the area, and will now do business as Southeast Fire & Burglar Alarm Company.

The acquisition allows for a combined offering of security, alarm and smart home and office opportunities for residential and commercial customers, Pineland Technology said in a prepared statement.

Southeastern was formerly owned by Lewis Spivey and Arthur Allen.

Pineland is a subsidiary of Pineland Telephone Cooperative Inc.

“We are certain the union will be positive for customers, employees and the communities in which we serve. We look forward to working with the entire Southeastern Alarm team to achieve just that,” Dustin Durden, general manager of Pineland Telephone Cooperative, said in the statement.

SFBAC will maintain a regional call center.

The company did not respond to requests for further comment.
