Siemens showcases enhanced technologies at 2013 NFPA

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill.—Siemens is highlighting a range of new and enhanced fire and life safety technologies at the 2013 NFPA Conference & Expo, being held this week in Chicago.

According to a company news release, the overarching theme of Siemens' booth—which features an interactive touch screen for customers to learn more about the products—is encapsulated in a slogan: “From simple to sophisticated buildings, Siemens' technologies make them safe.”

“With our portfolio continuing to expand in fire alarm and life safety management systems, innovative detection, and with emergency communications and mass notification functionality embedded in our panels, consulting engineers, fire protection engineers and building operators will get a thorough understanding of our ability to support a wide range of applications in buildings,” Brian O'Mahoney, senior director of control products and systems, said in a statement.

At Siemens' booth, customers can learn about products for small- and mid-sized facilities, as well as larger facilities with “highly complex application building types,” including data centers, medical centers, university campuses and more.

The enhancement of Siemens' fire alarm system, the FireFinder XLS fire alarm panel, will be a key feature of the booth, according to the news release.
