William Cooper, chairman of multiple CSAA committees, dies at home

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—William “Bill” Cooper IV died peacefully at home on Dec. 4, 2012, surrounded by loved ones.

Cooper was a security industry veteran, working at TYCO Integated Security until his passing, and chairing the CSAA SDM 100 Membership Committee. He also served on the CSAA standards, bylaws and insurance committees.

He played tennis at the University of Miami, where he proudly said he never lost a match, and received bachelor and master of science degrees from the University of Louisville. His time serving in the U.S. Marines inspired him and helped shape his identity.

“Bill Cooper was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever met,” said Steve Doyle, executive vice president of CSAA International, in a prepared statement. “We spent many hours working with the law enforcement community on crime prevention issues and he was highly regarded in that community and in our industry.”

He is survived by his wife, Jill Haden Cooper; his sons, Bill, Ashley and Jason Cooper; his stepchildren, Brendan Behlke and Dara Quinlan; and his grandchildren, William DiAngelis Cooper and Cameron Quinlan.
