WASHINGTON - In the wake of February’s fatal nightclub in West Warwick, R.I., two congressmen have introduced legislation that would provide tax incentives for property owners to install fire sprinkler systems.

BURNABY, British Columbia - Viscount Systems has agreed to buy the assets of the Enterphone product line owned by TELUS Corp., Viscount officials said Wednesday.

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - Security product distributor Elcor International has opened a new branch here, just a month after it opened another new location in New Jersey.
The addition brings Elcor’s branch count to three locations, plus the company’s headquarters in Fresh Meadows, N.Y.

LOS ANGELES - The alarm industry in Los Angeles has sought a legal avenue to block a controversial Los Angeles Police Department policy to stop responding to unverified burglar alarms in the city.
