Ackerman aids Georgia family

ATLANTA—Ackerman Security Systems has partnered with WSB and TrustDale to aid a local family's transition to a new home, according to a company statement. Ackerman will donate a security system on behalf of the partnership.

In October, 2-year-old Tripp Halstead suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was struck by a falling tree branch. In the wake of the incident, Tripp's parents purchased a one-story home to better accommodate his ongoing care.

With the home in need of repairs and with mounting medical bills, the Halsteads were in need of assistance for the upgrade. Ackerman's donated security system will provide protection and assistance in the event of a burglary, fire or medical emergency. The system also will have remote control and notification capabilities, the statement said.

“We consider it an honor and a privilege to assist the Halstead family during their time of need,” said Jim Callahan, president of Ackerman Security Systems.
