Cam-Dex names Dan Krumme president Fourth-generation family member tells SSN about his plans to sustain company’s upward trajectory

KANSAS CITY, Kan.—Cam-Dex Security Corp., a systems integrator based here, has named Dan Krumme as president. As a fourth-generation family member, he is excited to lead the company and build on the strong double-digit growth it experienced last year.

“Over the last few years we have seen growth between 20 and 25 percent, so we want to continue that momentum in 2020,” Krumme told Security Systems News. “One of the goals this year is to continue to expand our federal government and healthcare sector business. We are in the process of building out a federal government team and look to be more involved in some larger federal government projects moving forward.”

The company also continues to build out its national accounts program, including bolstering its national accounts team and bringing on new national accounts clients. The company is currently at 30 employees and will be adding several new employees this year, Krumme said.

He is also excited about growing the company's international business as a natural extension of its national customer base, with the help and support of other systems integrators that make up Security-Net.

“We have been a member of Security-Net since 1993, so they are great for us not only on a national level but on an international level as well,” he explained. “We lean heavily on those Security-Net partners both in the U.S. and internationally to help us not only execute projects but also from a service and ongoing maintenance perspective for our clients.”

On the technology side, Krumme said the company is “really excited” about cloud. “We got involved with cloud-based access control about two to three years ago and we want to continue to grow not only cloud-based access control but also cloud-based video surveillance as well.”

As Krumme takes on more responsibility within the organization, he said that doesn't mean his father, John Krumme, who is CEO, is going to slow down any time soon as the company continues to grow and diversify.

Krumme, who is a SSN Class of 2014 "20 under 40" winner, began his security career with Koorsen Fire & Security in January 2011 after completing a summer internship, serving as the national accounts project coordinator for two years. He has been with Cam-Dex since 2013, serving as branch manager for Cam-Dex's St. Louis office since that time. He and his wife Cori recently relocated to the Kansas City area, their hometown, which they are both elated about, he said.
