HID opens new world headquarters

AUSTIN, Texas—The new HID Global World Headquarters and North American Operations Center is now open in Austin, Texas, the company announced Jan. 13.

The $35 million, 250,000 square foot center is situated on 22 acres and will employ nearly 400 people by 2015, according to the statement. The company's corporate offices, manufacturing, assembly and test operations, distribution and sales operations will be based in the center.

“Texas is an ideal location for our new, state-of-the-art, sustainable facility, and will provide us an excellent platform for scaling our global operations to support the expansion of our leadership position in secure identity solutions,” said Denis Hebert, HID Global president and CEO, in a prepared statement.

HID Global expects the facility to be fully operational by the third quarter of 2015. The company says more than 300 new positions will be filled in the next two years, with nearly 400 people employed at the site by 2015.
