Icontrol adds 11 devices to growing OpenHome ecosystem

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—Icontrol Networks, a provider of connected home technology and innovation, announced June 11 that it has certified eleven new devices through its OpenHome Partner Program. Ranging from connected keyless door locks to thermostats and light switches, the new additions address top consumer needs and bring new depth to Icontrol's growing smart home ecosystem, the company said.
Icontrol's 2014 State of the Smart Home report found that consumers identify security and energy management as two of the top reasons to purchase a smart home system.
The newly OpenHome-certified Kwikset SmartCode 910 and 914, as well as the Weiser SmartCode GED1495 and GED 1800 Keyless Entry Door Locks, bring remote locking features. Other additions such as the Salus Optima Thermostat and Jasco ZigBee In-Wall ON/OFF Switch 45856 allow consumers to monitor and manage their energy consumption to keep usage in check.

“More than 70 applications and devices have been certified and are now part of the OpenHome ecosystem, with 80 more currently in the works,” said Jason Domangue, Icontrol's vice president of ecosystem development, in a prepared statement. “… No other interoperability program is addressing the mass market needs like the OpenHome program.”
