LENEXA, Kan.—Integrated Openings Solutions (IOS) has appointed security industry veteran Joseph Grillo as chief executive officer, a move the company said supports its next phase of expansion while co-founders Joe Lopez and Nick McCarty shift their attention to strategic partnerships, new markets and acquisition opportunities.
The leadership transition is part of the company's "Building for Growth" initiative. Lopez and McCarty will remain with IOS as co-founders focused on strategic partnerships and corporate development, while continuing to serve on the board of directors.
Founded in 2018, IOS has grown to 10 locations across Kansas, Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina and the Washington, D.C., region, providing commercial openings solutions that include doors, frames, hardware, access control, security systems and specialty products.
The company has expanded both organically and through acquisitions, bringing together businesses including Cardinal Door & Hardware, Duranotic Door, Automatic Door Systems, Atlass Hardware, Suncoast Commercial Door & Hardware, B.A. Hoft of Charlotte, Triad Security Group, Washington Door & Hardware, B.A. Hoft & Associates of Raleigh, Design Supply Doors and Commercial Door & Hardware. Most recently, IOS opened a new location in Rogers, Ark.
“Nick and I set out to build a company where people come first and relationships matter, and we couldn’t be prouder of what our team has built,” said Joe Lopez, co-founder of IOS. “There are tremendous opportunities ahead, with more customers to serve, markets to enter and businesses to welcome into the IOS family. This change lets us spend our time where we can make the greatest difference, with Joseph leading the company day to day.”
Grillo brings more than 40 years of experience in the security and access control industries. He was a co-founder and longtime president of HID Corp., helping lead its growth before its acquisition by ASSA ABLOY. He later served as president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY's Global Technologies Division and executive vice president of ASSA ABLOY AB, overseeing businesses including HID Global, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality and Besam Automatic Doors while completing more than 15 acquisitions.
In 2012, Grillo founded ACRE and served as CEO until 2022. He also previously served as president of the Security Industry Association (SIA) and has been a member of the IOS board for the past two years.
“IOS has something special: talented people, strong customer relationships and a culture built on putting people first,” Grillo said. “I’m honored to lead this team and excited to build on that foundation as we continue to grow together as One IOS.”
