SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced that Kasia Hanson, global director – video, safety and security – Network and Edge Group at Intel Corporation is the recipient of the 2022 SIA Progress Award.

The honor is presented by SIA’s Women in Security Forum (WISF) as they celebrate individuals who, “…pave the way to success for women in the security industry.” Hanson will receive her award during the 2022 SIA Honors Night reception on November 16.

The SIA Progress Award recognizes members that have shown excellence in their advancement of opportunities and success for women. Recipients are determined by their contributions to their fostering of women in the industry based on those principals.

“I am honored to receive the 2022 SIA Progress Award,” Hanson said. “Paving the way for diversity and inclusion in security is a win-win for the industry that creates opportunities for the next generation of female leaders in security. I’m proud of the work SIA and the Women in Security Forum continue to do to create an inclusive industry today for the future.”

Besides her work at Intel, Hanson has also served as the chair for the SIA’s WISF since 2021 and led the launch of the WISF Power 100 in 2022. A 22-year veteran of Intel, the SIA said that her team, “…drives technology design, go-to-market and ecosystem orchestration strategies that drive revenue and adoption of artificial intelligence and edge technologies across the security industry.” Her expertise includes AI, physical and cybersecurity, data centers and storage. In addition, Hanson is a Distinguished Fellow for the Innovation Institute and was named the No. 3 Information Security Global Influencer in 2021.
