Kwikset by Kevo makes it easier to open your home to houseguests

LAKE FOREST, Calif.—Just in time for summer houseguests, Kwikset this week introduced its latest upgrade to the Kwikset by Kevo Bluetooth residential door application, giving Kevo homeowners the ability to send free and unlimited guest electronic keys [eKeys] to recipients. Also, with a scheduled eKey, homeowners can set day and time constraints for regular house visitors, such as babysitters, dog-walkers and contractors.

Kevo homeowners can update their Kevo mobile app and lock firmware to enable these new types of eKeys, according to a July 24 news release.

"We're always looking for ways to improve the Kevo experience, and we hope this upgrade shows our customers that we're listening," Keith Brandon, director, residential access solutions, said in a prepared statement. "We're also introducing Scheduled eKeys to give homeowners the convenience of setting date and time constraints."

With the new Guest eKeys, homeowners can give houseguests unrestricted access for a 24-hour period. Owners also have the option to delete Guest eKeys manually before the 24-hour access expires. The upgrades now allow homeowners to give a neighbor access to keep an eye on the kids, or let in a weekend guest who beats them home from a busy day at work.

The Kevo Bluetooth Smart Lock is powered by UniKey.
