Mahler retires as chairman and CEO of ADS

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—After 22 years with ADS Security, Mel Mahler is stepping down as chairman and CEO, according to a company news release.

Mahler, who was selected by SSN as one of the top security industry mentors of 2012, has assumed the role of chairman emeritus, while John Cerasuolo, president and COO of the company since 2008, will become CEO, the company said in the Dec. 12 release. Cerasuolo joined ADS when Mahler stepped aside as president and Cerasuolo took over that role.

Bill Hunt, president of Elmhurst Corporation, will assume the role of chairman.

“I am pleased with the accomplishments of the senior team at ADS and proud of the fact that I was responsible for hiring each of them,” Mahler said in the statement. “John Cerasuolo is ready to assume the role of CEO. The company is in good hands.”

Cerasuolo expects to continue strategic acquisitions to grow the company, which operates in seven states and fifteen markets in the Southeast.
