Missouri school district selects RedCloud for access control

STERLING, Va.—RedCloud, a provider of Web-based physical access control systems, announced recently that the Liberty Public School District near Kansas City, Mo., has deployed the company's Enterprise system to manage security, according to a RedCloud statement.

The scalable system will enable Liberty to manage security across 22 school facilities. The 85-square-mile district includes 11,600 students.

Liberty looked to transition from a costly legacy access control system that lacked Web-based capabilities for remote management of facilities.

“It became evident that our previous access control system was not only falling short from a functionality and scalability standpoint, but also became increasingly difficult to justify due to onerous recurring costs,” Curt Laven, technology specialist, Liberty Public School District, said in the statement. “RedCloud Enterprise provides Liberty with a single network appliance solution from which we can now easily manage security … through a Web-based interface that provides administrators with real-time visibility into security activity at each building.”
