Monitor America earns UL listing

MOONACHIE, N.J.—Monitor America, a provider of security monitoring services technology, based here, has earned UL certification for meeting all required criteria, according to a company statement.

“Becoming UL-listed is a milestone for Monitor America and its goal of being the most advanced central station for alarm services in the nation,” Jay Stuck, spokesman for Monitor America, said in the statement. “Security directors, together with dealers and integrators who are looking for video, intrusion and fire monitoring, now have the assurance of high-quality life-safety and technology that a UL listing means at Monitor America.”

Monitor America, which began full operations in June, provides monitoring services for both residential and commercial accounts. In light of a false alarm epidemic, the industry is moving toward video verification becoming a requirement for alarm signals, according to the statement. “Monitor America will be the 'go to' central station for video services due to our investment in cutting edge-technology and know-how,” Stuck said in the statement.

Monitor America is housed in a 25,000-square-foot facility, and offers a range of services including hosted video and access control, virtual security tours, video concierge services, video escorting, PERS services, intrusion, video monitoring and video verification of alarms, according to the statement.
