PureTech Systems' intelligent video analytics helped protect DNC

PHOENIX, Ariz. - A PureActiv Wide Area Surveillance System helped provide security for the Democratic National Convention held earlier this month in Charlotte, according to a PureTech news release.

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), which maintains the transportation system in and around the city, deployed the video analytics system to secure areas around the rail tracks near the convention and beyond. The installation, performed by SimplexGrinnell, included Pelco day/night cameras and PureTech's geospatial analytics.

The system enabled transit security officials and the Secret Service to locate potential security threats on a GIS map, while being able to simultaneously view live video feeds. The system also provided a forensic research capability that allowed authorities to rapidly search recorded video to identify suspicious activity.
