Pye-Barker closes out May with a pair of acquisitions

ATLANTA — Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has recently made a few more acquisitions to round out the month of May.

On May 29th, Pye-Barker acquired Security Solutions Inc., a security, alarms and surveillance systems provider serving the Norwalk, Connecticut area.

A family-run business for more than 30 years, Security Solutions has built a presence with customers from Greenwich to New Haven. Founded and led by the Orvis family, Security Solutions Inc. (SSI) offers security alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, access control and 24-7 monitoring. Current President James “Jamie” Orvis is known for his leadership within the Electronic Security Association (ESA), which recognized him with the 2009 Person of the Year Award, and the Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF), where he founded the AIREF Golf Classic to fund industry research and training.

“The Orvis family has grown Security Solutions Inc. from a small alarms provider to a leading systems integration business by staying on the forefront of new technology and building a team that is empowered through ongoing training,” said Bart Proctor, Pye-Barker CEO. “The SSI team will make a great addition to Pye-Barker as we work toward a unified goal of protecting every community.”

Pye-Barker said that through SSI’s addition it can bring its full suite of fire protection and security alarm services to new communities.

“SSI has been leading and moving the industry forward for over 30 years, and I’m eager to watch how Pye-Barker will build upon our legacy of innovation and expertise to take us to new heights,” SSI President and Owner Jamie Orvis said.

Just prior to the SSI acquisition, Pye-Barker also picked up Scott Fire Protection, a fire sprinkler protection company located near Reno, Nevada.

Pye-Barker stated that the SSI team will continue to serve customers in Connecticut.
