TAC, Andover Controls reveal new name

November 25, 2004 CARROLLTON, Texas - TAC and Andover Controls, two building control and security management companies now owned by French firm Schneider Electric, have come together under a single name. The united companies will now be known as Tour Andover Controls, leveraging the name recognition of both building automation companies. The new name draws upon an earlier identity for TAC, Tour & Andersson Controls. It also draws upon the name recognition of Andover Controls in the United States and United Kingdom. TAC has built a name for itself in Europe. Parent company Schneider Electric began uniting the two businesses a few months ago, announcing that marketing, research and development would move to Andover Control’s facility in Andover, Mass. Schneider Electric bought Andover Controls in August 2004 and bought TAC a year earlier. As part of the restructuring, Arne Frank has been named chief executive officer of Tour Andover Controls. Together, the companies have projected revenues of $700 million and employs more than 2,700 people worldwide.
