‘We’re that bridge for our customers,’ Acre Security CEO Kumar Sokka says

PLANO, Texas—Newly appointed Acre Security CEO Kumar Sokka says his company is entering a transformative chapter that will lead to a better partner and customer experience through a unified platform and customer-first approach.

Sokka’s plans including taking the company's core platforms of access control, intrusion, and identity and visitor management and creating one unified platform, or what he terms “one UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience).”

Acre Security“For us that's how it's evolving and changing,” he said. “But at the same time, we're ensuring that we're not leaving any customer behind.”

Sokka officially took the helm of the integrated security technology provider on June 16 after overseeing two of the company’s core business units - Comnet and Intrusion. He joined the company in August 2024.

Prioritizing innovation

With Sokka’s nearly two decades of experience - including 16 years as global general manager at Rockwell Automation – he cites the need to have an enterprise-level mindset to steer Acre through this period of convergence and innovation. That means not only wins at the enterprise level but also wins at the small to medium commercial level because “everyone wants that best-in-class software.”

“Whether you're a small commercial customer or an enterprise customer, everyone wants that best-in-class technology, right?” he explained. “Our mindset is we always want to innovate. We always want to have the best quality. We want to make sure that our software and hardware are integrated, and we want to be able to bridge third-party technology as well that's focused on specific areas in our industry and be open from that perspective.”

Balancing AI

Acre’s human-first mission, which emphasizes making people feel safe, welcome and in control, must be balanced with the push toward automation, AI and integrated ecosystems, Sokka says.

“We look at it as, how do you take the normal everyday task and make it simpler and easier and quicker?” he said. “That’s how we’re looking at AI. Then, how do we make integrations or make our development team internally more effective and efficient and build better and higher-quality products? So, there's both a customer view of making customers feel better, but also how do we improve and develop our own self by leveraging AI, whether it's products, whether it’s operations, or whether it’s our customer experience.”

Flexing in any direction

Just one month into his tenure as CEO, Sokka feels that Acre is well positioned to lead in a future that demands security excellence, as well as intelligence and adaptability.

“We're driving organizations forward, helping them bridge the gap of where they are today with technology that helps prepare them for their future, with a unified platform that can meet their needs across access control, intrusion/visitor management and video, where they can flex in any direction they want,” he stated. “When that technology comes together for them, there's so much more that they can do.”
