Women's Security Council announces Women of the Year awards

LAS VEGAS—The Women's Security Council, a network of security professionals focused on promoting the advancement of women in the industry, will again recognize top female professionals in the physical security industry at the 2013 WSC Women of the Year awards, according to a statement from the organization.

Award winners will be honored during ISC West 2013 in Las Vegas. Winners will be formally announced at WSC's 2013 Awards Reception from 6-8 p.m. April 9.

“The security industry includes many women who are demonstrated influencers and others who are emerging as the industry's future leaders,” said Rhianna Daniels, managing director of CompassPR and a WSC Founding Committee member. “The Women of the Year Awards spotlight the exceptional women in the physical security industry, which is central to our mission to provide networking and a strong support system.”

Awards in a variety of categories will be based on demonstrated leadership in the security industry and employer companies. The WSC Founding Committee and WSC members will conduct the review process, the statement said. Winners will be profiled in a special April 2013 eWSC awards newsletter and announced in an official WSC press release, which will be distributed at ISC West.
