Per Mar acquires Barone and PBSS

Per Mar acquires Barone and PBSS Deal helps expand company’s reach in Nebraska and Wisconsin

DAVENPORT, Iowa—Per Mar Security Services, a family-owned, full-service security company based here, announced it has acquired Barone and Polk Burnett Security Systems (PBSS) from Iverify for an undisclosed amount. Managing director of SPP Advisors, LLC, Mark Sandler, represented Iverify during the transaction.

The acquisition helps expand Per Mar's presence in Nebraska and Wisconsin, specifically in Duluth, Eau Claire and the newly established Omaha location. “This [Omaha] is a new electronic security [location] for Per Mar,” Brian Duffy, COO, Per Mar Security Services, told Security Systems News.

When asked if Barone and PBSS are going to continue to offer their currently established service offerings or change, Duffy said, “We will be focusing on offering interactive services to the customer bases of both Barone and PBSS, and getting as many customers off of the phone lines as we can.”

Duffy also mentioned Barone and PBSS customers and employees bases match very well with Per Mar's strategy. “We really are a local, Midwestern alarm company that happens to operate in multiple locations. We will place our trust in our employees in these markets to make decisions for our customers and provide excellent service.”

Jim Fanella, CEO of Iverify, said in the announcement, “With Barone being a provider of security services in Nebraska for over 60 years and PBSS in Wisconsin for 27, we found it important to find a company who has the same Midwestern values and dedication to the community, employees, and customers. Per Mar's strong local presence will deliver customers great value for years.”

Duffy added, “This is a perfect fit—Per Mar's focus is operating branch offices to service customers across the Midwest, while Iverify has continually grown their national accounts business. We are really excited to welcome our new team members in to the Per Mar family, and expect to be able to invest in growth in both areas.”
